RAW + Black & White

This entry is a trial of RAW image in black & white. I must say, I’m starting to like RAW images because it is so easy to play around with the color composition.

Raw image files are sometimes called digital negatives, as they fulfill the same role as film negatives in traditional chemical photography: that is, the negative is not directly usable as an image, but has all of the information needed to create an image. Likewise, the process of converting a raw image file into a viewable format is sometimes called developing a raw image, by analogy with the film development process used to convert photographic film into viewable prints.

The only problem with RAW images is that the file size is huge. 10MB for a single file, imagine how many can u capture for a single 512MB CF card.

For this photo session, at the beginning I tried to use light source from the window to make a natural composition and lighting. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the picture I wanted. I messed up every setting on the camera. Out of a hundred pictures taken, one of them was in RAW format and it didn’t disappoint me.
