He is huge, he is loud, and he is King Gojulas!
It was around 2 am in the morning, while I was talking to my wife over Skype, King Gojulas was finally assembled. It took about 2 hrs to assemble, and another hour to place the sticker. When I turned on King Gojulas for testing, I was shocked by how loud he was. He took 4 steps ahead before he stopped and spun his Vulcan cannon guns and screamed! Rooaarr !
King Gojulas is one of the more advanced toys, the engineering behind the mechanics are superb. Even, the design of the robot is superb. He looks almost like Godzilla except that he has more to offer, a long red horn and 3 Vulcan cannons on the chest. King Gojulas is perfect for display alongside Deathsaurer, Gilvader and Ultrasaurus. Sadly you can’t play with him that much. If you let him walk for 10 mins you will be annoyed by his loud scream. I wish there are more mechanical options to choose, a switch that can make him move, and another switch just for him to activate to vulcan cannons and scream roaarr! Similar to Bserk Fury, Lightning Saix, or Hiltz’s Sea Scorpion where you can link them with Zoids controller CP-16. If any Zoid fans out there can help me re-engineer my King Gojulas, I would appreciate it.
There are 2 switches at the back, one is for lighting system, and another one is for movement and sound. King Gojulas requires 2x AA and 2x C size battery. I always reserve new battery on standby, or else I may get frustrated not being able to see him moving after he is assembled.
Zoids King Gojulas made by Tomy of Japan in 1989 has to be the largest Zoids line ever made. Since the release, the Zoids are very rare and extremely hard to find. In ebay, they are priced at USD300. When the new 25th rebirth century was release, Zoid fans scream in joy! I quickly bid my King Gojulas before it ran out of stock again!
Without a doubt, he is one of my favorites of all the Zoids. Next on the list, I wish to get Gilvader and Gungyarados to complete the ultimate trinity of Zoids.
