Dusun Eco Resort

In this entry I went to Dusun Eco Resort, which is located at 56.8 KM, Lebuhraya Kuala Lumpur/Karak, Bentong, Pahang Darul Makmur, in other word ” it is out of no where”. Bentong? Never heard of it before. In this trip, my friend Zainur was responsible for organizing Team Building for UMW Toyota. There are a lot of activities that you can do here in Dukun Eco Resort such as, Flying Fox, rafting, rock climbing, but my favorite is jungle tracking.

The jungle trekking trails took about 3 hours to complete them all. We took the 1hr route, because we started a bit late in the afternoon and of course it was the shortest and easiest. There is another route, which took 2 hrs to complete. I heard that it will lead to the huge waterfalls.

Zainur was the leader for the jungle tracking trip. I guessed that I would run out of stamina so I was hoping for a slow relaxing walk. It turned out to be a rather quick trip, we only stopped once for a photo shoot. There was no peak point in this short route nor a huge waterfall. This was just for a warm-up activity rather than an adventurous trip. I experienced the nature and all the lush flora and fauna from Malaysian tropical rain forests.

I was using my 50mm f1.8 lens, looking for a “Bokeh” type photo. Since it was only 1hr trip I was not worried. My bag was full of camera equipment, tripod and such. I was so into photography mode. After 30 min walk I talked to my self, what if we got lost here. We didn’t have anything with us except camera equipment. I even forgot to bring 2 basic survivor kit (knife and torchlight).

Pacat !

We managed to walk till the final route, which was coming back to the resort. It took 1hr 30 min for the trip, just before we reached at the resort, Zainur noticed that something was hanging on his foot. It was a leech! He quickly removed it as it was about to suck his blood.

Last but not least, Vietnam Bridge adventure was located near the resort. The bridge was linked with 3 metal cables and solid woods every 1 meter. The bridge is called Vietnam bridge as it is believed that during WW2 the Vietnamese used this 3-string concept to make a bridge to connect from one place to another.

Overall the jungle tracking trip at Dusun Eco Resort, Bentong was fantastic. I might come back for another 2hrs jungle tracking route. I heard that the route will lead to a huge waterfalls. That should be worth it.
