My 1st Zoid was bought in 1988, It was OJR ZOIDS Gorhecks (White/Purple color). It was a present from my dad for excellent exam result in school. The toy is so cool, wind it up and it can move forward, the back fin wave up/open and the head rotates left right. If the small one can do such a fantastic mechanical movement, imagine what the big one can do.
In 1991, I aimed for a bigger Zoid. I used money from my saving and went to Jusco Mall. I was looking for anything bigger than Gorhecks. It was Gojulas and its Big enough! Unfortunately, very unlucky of me, the Gojulas power unit engine was damaged due to packaging. When assembled, the Gojulas stuck and didn’t move at all. I was 12 at that time, and going back to Jusco Mall and asking for a refund is a big deal for me. Customer’s right doesn’t apply in Malaysia. Goods sold are not returnable for sure. Even if you really insist for a refund, you need to prepare for a heavy argument because they wont give-up so easily.
My toys era stopped. There came a time when people grew up. I kept away all the toys and read books ! But I was wrong, it only last a for a few years. I couldn’t keep it anymore, Zoids were released again. It was called Zoids2 (shiny chrome color) and there was another bigger one called Ultrasaurus. This time I shared the money with my brother Fariz. Bought it back home, assembled! And finally it walked!
In 1999, TOMY relaunched the Zoids line. Initially, the line consisted of recoloured re-releases of older Zoids, and also releasing new Zoid designs. Since then, my Zoids collection are increasing. I don’t remember how many Zoids I have now, because there’re a lot.
Here are my top 5 Giant Zoids
5. UltraSaurus RZ-037 Ultrasaurus Type, Helic Republic
It a Zoids2 released. I upgraded it with MK-2 Canon. I used to play this Zoid with my cat. It made the cats ran away like hell. Once activated, the Zoid walked forward, the head raising and lowering, and the jaws chomping. The Ultrasaurus’s eyes also flashed on and off.
The Ultrasaurus was designed by the Republic to be their “ultimate weapon”, a Zoid capable of defeating any opponent it faced and ending the war. Bigger than anything that had been previously created; the Ultrasaurus mounts a staggering array of weapons capable of levelling almost any target. The Zoid’s main weapons are a quartet of 360mm Supercannons, similar to those used by the Gojulas. These long ranged weapons are capable of raining down incredible destruction on targets from a great distance.
The Zoid is incredibly heavily armoured; constructed to carry some of the thickest armour mounted on any Zoid. This is a necessity, as the Ultrasaurus is ponderously slow and incredibly clumsy, unable to evade attacks. However, the Zoid’s massive arsenal makes attacking it a dubious prospect at best.
The Ultrasaurus is equipped with a trio of smaller hover vehicles that can be used for reconnaissance and exploration independently of the main Zoid. Additionally, the Zoid is equipped with a sophisticated communications array; allowing it to act as a mobile command centre. The Zoid is amphibious; capable of operating both on land and in water, and can completely submerge if required. – wikipedia
4. Madthunder RZ-055 Triceratops Type, Helic Republic
Bought off EBAY, shipped from Singapore. This Zoids was bought since it is rare and hard to find. Once activated, the Zoid walked forward at a moderate pace, sweeping its tail from side to side, the jaws opening and closing and the drills, as well as a drum and two large discs on the sides, spinning. The Madthunder’s eyes also flashed on and off.
The Madthunder is a Triceratops-type Zoid created by the Helic Republic, as a counter to the Deathsaurer.
The Deathsaurer had proven to be more than a match for any previous Helic Zoid, capable of easily defeating the Ultrasaurus. As a result, the Republic developed a Zoid specifically to counter it. The heaviest Zoid ever created, the Mad Thunder was equipped with the thickest armour available. In order to protect it from the Deathsaurer’s fearsome Charged Particle Cannon, the Zoid was also equipped with a special energy shield mounted in its head. This shield absorbed and deflected charged particle attacks, making it effectively immune to the Deathsaurer’s main cannon.
As conventional weapons had proved to be ineffective against the Deathsaurer, the Helic designers equipped the Zoid with a pair of massive drills, capable of boring through even the thickest armour. The intention was that the Madthunder would simply ram the Deathsaurer and impale it. The Zoid was equipped with numerous secondary weapons so that it could fend off attacks by other Zoids while doing so.
In addition to its fearsome battlefield capabilities, the Madthunder was outfitted with a field command centre and extensive communications and sensory capabilities. – wikipedia
3. DeathSaurer EZ-021 Dinosaur Type, Zenebas/Guylos
Bough this off EBAY too, shipped from Singapore. Deathsaurer is the true fearsome mean monster. In the cartoon (Zoids Chaotic Century & New Century) it crushed everything, burned everything that got in his way. That is really bad-ass!
Once activated, the Zoid walked forward, waving its arms, sweeping its tail from side to side, the jaws opening and closing and the fan on its back spinning. The Death Saurer’s eyes also flash on and off.
The Death Saurer is a Tyrannosaurus-type Zoid modeled after the fictional Japanese monster Godzilla, and is used by the Zenebas Empire, and later the Guylos Empire. The Death Saurer is one of the most powerful Zoids ever to have existed.
The Death Saurer was developed as a counter to the Republic’s Ultrasaurus, a Zoid that was considered to be unstoppable. To defeat it, the Death Saurer was armed with a new weapon, the Charged Particle Cannon. This weapon, long considered to be one of the most powerful ever mounted on a Zoid, was capable of levelling almost any target in a single blast. No form of armour or defense was effective against this weapon. While other Zoids have mounted Charged Particle Cannons, the Death Saurer’s is still the most powerful. Additionally, unlike other CPC-armed Zoids, the Death Saurer does not need to be immobilised in order to fire its cannon.
In addition to its powerful weapons, the Death Saurer is also covered by some of the thickest armour on any Zoid. The Death Saurer’s armour was designed to defend against such weapons as the Ultrasaurus’ quad 360 mm Cannons and the Gojulas Supercannons. The only weakness in its armour is the intake for its Charged Particle Cannon. The intake is less protected than the rest of its body, and is vulnerable to attack. Destroying it will expose the Zoid’s power system to a direct attack.
The Death Saurer’s only other weakness is the ponderously slow speed at which it moves, which makes it an easy target. Of course, its thick armour and powerful weapons mean that it can survive almost any assault. – wikipedia
2. Gildragon Genesis GZ-018
Bought this off EBAY again, shipped from HongKong to UK (I was studying in the UK at that time). Now I just realised, all of my Zoids were bought off EBAY lol! Actually if I knew Gilvader would be released, I wouldn’t buy this one. Gildragon is a ladylike dragon and the color is soft white/blue compared to Gilvader black/purple bad ass look! Anyway those 2 will look fine if keep in the shelf next to each other.
Once activated, the Zoid walked forward, its wings flapping, tail moving and jaws chomping, the four buzzsaws spinning and the power connection ports turning. A second pair of AA batteries power lights that illuminated the Zoid’s eyes and buzzsaws.
The Gildragon is an immense, ancient Zoid created by the Sky People, a super-advanced race that existed before the Great Cataclysm. However, a second faction of the Sky People created the Gilvader, and used it to battle the Gildragon. The Gildragon was disabled, crashed to Zi, and was lost.
Ruuji and the other main characters learn of the existence of the Gildragon, and are instrumental in its rediscovery and reactivation.
After reactivating, the Gildragon is damaged in combat against the Digald forces and has one of its wings shot off. It spends the remainder of the series deactivated.
1. King Gojulas DPZ-24 Tyrannosaurus Type, Helic Republic

This is my 29th birthday present, my wife bought me this off EBAY. Yeay, thanks honeybunny. I love U! This is in a long-waited list and a must buy for all Zoids fans.
Once activated, the Zoid walked forward, arms swinging back and forth, tail moving from side to side, then it stop walking, the three chest-mounted guns start to spin, opens both arms with head moving from side to side, opens the mouth and lets out a roar. The eyes also flashes on and off.
The King Gojulas was deployed during the Republic’s invasion of the Guylos Empire, making use of every possible piece of advanced technology at the time, to the point where it was hailed as "the greatest Zoid in history" in the technical data sections of its box. It lived up to its reputation, taking on and destroying large numbers of Dark Army Zoids as it continued on to the Empire capital unchallenged.
Desperate, the Guylos forces prepared the Descat, planning to use the crushing power of its Super Gravity Bullet Cannon to halt the King Gojulas’ advance. However, as the hour of the final confrontation drew near, a comet struck one of Zi’s moons, raining down meteors and destroying large numbers of Zoids.[1] The King Gojulas was likely among them. As of yet, it has yet to reappear in any new release battle story or fanbook content (except in flashback). -wikipedia
Next on the list will be :-
1. Gungyarados DPZ-23 Dragon Type Guylos Empire (Must buy upon released!)
2. Gilvader DBOZ-17 Wyvern Type Guylos Empire
3. HMM 006 – 009 Saber Tiger Schwalz Ver
