25 April 2009, Broga Hill Semenyih. Expect the unexpected, this is the best quote to describe this incident.One of our members felt down, and torn his ligament. The incident occurred when we decided to take the high shutter speed pose by jumping up to the air.
This outing was organised by jalan2 cari photo flickr group. The outing was lead by Mr. Emran and there were 10 photographers participated in this outing (Emran, Azli, Faiz, Fariz, Ikin, Sirmart, Rizal, Arab, Aqiera and Shazral. Broga Hills was located at the Semenyih, near University of Notthingham. The entrance to Broga Hill is just close the Rabbit Farm, 2 min before Kg Broga.
To climb up Broga Hill there was only 1 correct route. As you follow the route at the Palm Tree estate, the route split into 2, to the Left is the 4×4 route (which look like a promising route) and to the Right is the rocky small route. Take the RIGHT ROCKY ROUTE! If you take the left 4×4 route it will lead else where, you still can have a look at the panoramic view of Semenyih/Kg Broga but you will never reach at the top of the Broga hills.
The expedition took around 40 min climbing up the hills. If you have a good stamina and really fit, it will take you around 20 min. Since not all of us have a good stamina, so we take a break every 15 min walking so that members at the back can catchup with front row.
Once you are near the top hill, you will be amazed with the view of Broga Hill. It is surrounded with long grass and big rocks. Since Broga hill is famous now days, the number of visitors was increasing. Broga Hills was packed with visitor, they came here to watch the sunrise/sunset view.
Our pose for Broga hill always be the sky high jump with the high shutter speed. It’s symbolic of how we have conquered this hill.
I believe this is call “psyched” or the simple thesaurus “over exited”
A moment before the incident.
Everyone took his/her turn to pose, and when Rizal’s turn, he did not land properly. His right foot accidentally landed on the rock while his left foot land on the ground.
He screamed in pain!
We decided that the fun was over. It was time to go back home. At first Rizal was trying hard to walk down the hill. Until he admitted he couldn’t walk any further.
Emran and Azli took turn to carry Rizal down the hill. The hill was quite steep.
It was still a long way down, we decided that this was a serious case. We called 999 and asked for a rescue.

We kept on walking downhill as far as we could. We walked as slowly as possible, until the hill was really steep with a very narrow pathway. We could not afford to take a risk to walk Rizal down anymore. It was time to wait for the rescue.
We split into 2 groups, Fariz, Sirmart and myself decided to go down first and asked for help. I drived toward the nearest town for first aids and ice cube.
SirMart runs back up hill for the first aids and Ice Cube. While I was waiting at the main road for the rescue to arrive.
The rest of the photos will explain what happened.

I explained the them what had happened, and we ran back up the hill to meet up the the group.
Everyone take a drinks, rescue were here.
Rizal was tied up at the stretcher.
We were ready, lets lift him. Ouch he’s heavy!

Rizal was sent to Kajang Hospital. X-ray was performed. The doctor admitted that both of his ligament were torn. He would spend the rest of the week with a walking stick and plaster.
Here a few words for Sirmart
Saya baru pulang ke rumah dari KL. Seminggu di KL yang penuh dengan phototrip mmg amat seronok. Mcm2 yang dirakamkan setelah di sana. Namun dalam keseronokkan, ada musibah melanda.
Shot ni diambil semasa di Bukit Broga.
Pertama sekali terima kasih saya yang tidak terhingga buat semua saudara/i yang bersama2 membantu dalam musibah yang menimpa anak buah saya FareQ Rizal.
Dia semalam dirujuk ke Hospital Kajang, dan setelah dua kali xray, didapati ada ligamen tear dua2 belah side lutut dia.., yang buat dia terpaksa bertongkat & pakai penahan ala2 stone cold steve austin tuh…
Saya naik bas balik ke Sg. Petani petang semalam, dan dia telah diterbangkan balik oleh fireflyz ke Penang, dan terus warded ke Hospital Pakar Puteri (formerly known as Strand), Sg. Petani.
Saya amat kagum dengan semangat setiakawan dari semua yang bersama-sama semasa outing nih, walaupun kali pertama berjumpa namun semangat ini susah utk wujud pada sesetengah orang. Tabik utk semuanya.

Faiz & Fariz, tolong belikan ais & naik turun dua tiga kali.. bawak air lagi..
Shazral & Arabischenab, Aqiera, yang banyak membantu sepanjang jalan… dan cik Ashikinabdullah yang sanggup menunggu.. Juga yang membantu tapi saya x sebut kat sini.. kalau x salah ada 2 org lagi brader yang tolong tp saya x smpt nak kenal..
Juga terima kasih gak pada pihak JPA3 Kuala Lumpur yang dpt membantu.. cukup terlatih dlm situasi kecemasan. Tabik!!
