Have you seen a video from youtube called I am Maru ? Maru is a Scottish Fold cat that likes to get boxes stuck on his head. Here were I get the idea to take photo of my wife’s beloved Chinchilla Kitten.
We bought our kitten from Galaxy Pets, at Damansara Uptown. The taukeh was so informative as he talked to us on how to take care of a kitten. He let us hold the kitten. I couldn’t tell you how happy my wife was when holding the kitten.
My wife said;
I knew they went fast and when I first laid eyes on her, I knew she’s the one
She was just soo sweet and soo cute. She let us pet her head and neck and keep on meowing because she was scared and was easily distracted by loud noises as she just arrived at the store that day.
Our kitten was a 2 month old Chinchilla longhair.
The cat was sold at RM950 but was given for RM800 for us because on top of that we bought the cage, kitty litter, cat food, litter tray, food & water tray and cat brush. We were give gifts from the taukeh Cat mug with a very nice box and a few kitty toys. Total all together was RM1200.
Tips on kitten care.
1. Feed twice a day (morning & night) – appropriate nutritious food in the right amount. Obese cats are not healthy.
2. Clean the kitty litter cage regularly.
3. Don’t put so much effort on brushing the fur but make sure they get grooming about once a month – which include a bath.
4. Cut the nail.
5. Exercise your kitten by playing with them – they enjoy toys.
6. Vaccinate your kitten and during that visit, make sure the vet inspects your kitten for fleas and ear mites.
Miyuki’s first night at home. She was happy to acquire a spacious new cage to play but still very distracted with surrounding noises. She hadn’t cried yet on the first night, my wife was so worried that she would not drink but was glad that she settled down after a while.
As we moved to our new condo, Miyuki is free to run anywhere. She would be our alarm clock as she bites our feet early in the morning to wake us up. She can also stand on her 2 feet.
Chinchillas are a variety of the Persian cat. The Chinchilla is classed as a "silver" cat. Chinchillas of today have a quiet, gentle nature and would suitable for anyone with the exception of small children, the same applies to all Persians . They will need grooming daily in the cooler months or less frequently when not in full coat.
She’s a great addition to our small family, she’s our little baby. We pampered her with new toys every time we go out and my wife even bought her a new raptor outfit.
